Step 1
Determine if you qualify. DO I QUALIFY?

Complete the only application. Apply HERE
Step 3
Receive a Pre-Approval letter from the City of Gulf Shores.
Step 4
Execute a written Septic to Sewer Connection Agreement with the City of Gulf Shores. It must be signed by the City before work can begin. Owners WILL BE INELIGIBLE if work is started or completed prior to receipt of a fully executed agreement.
Step 5
Select a Prequalified Licensed Pumping Contractor or company to complete the work. The contractor must be licensed through the City of Gulf Shores, and the Alabama Onsite Wastewater Board must approve the pumping contractor. Click HERE for list of Prequalified Licensed Contractors.
Step 6
Call Baldwin County Environmental Department at (251) 947-3618 to notify them of your intent to abandon your septic system and connect to City sewage treatment service. Obtain the required permit from the City of Gulf Shores Building Department and work with a Prequalified Licensed Contractor or company to secure the permit.
With the permit in hand, you can then complete the work.
Step 7
Complete all work and close out permit within six (6) months of receiving the pre-approval letter. Verify the following checklist is completed. Program Info and Checklist

Submit all receipts and closed-out permit along with an application for payment to [email protected].

Receive your reimbursement.
